Judgement Hall Scene

Where every choice is weighed, and the skeleton stands between you and your final destiny.

The Judgement Hall serves as the final moral checkpoint before the player reaches the throne room in New Home. It is a stark, minimalist arena where Sans the Skeleton confronts the protagonist to evaluate their actions throughout the journey. This location represents the culmination of the game's themes regarding consequence and karma.

Lore & Background

Sans acts as an unofficial warden here, utilizing his knowledge of timelines to assess whether the player has acted with cruelty or compassion. The atmosphere shifts drastically depending on the player's Level of Violence (LV). In peaceful runs, it is a somber warning; in violent ones, it transforms into a deadly battlefield where reality itself begins to fracture under the pressure of accumulated sin.

In Their Own Story

The air grows cold as you step past the final door. The familiar hum of New Home fades, replaced by an oppressive silence. Sans stands in the center of the dark void, his hands buried deep in his pockets. He looks up, not with anger, but with a weary sadness that feels heavier than any weapon. A clock on the wall ticks once, then stops. You realize this is not just another hallway; it is the final test before you meet the king.

Reader's Guide

Upon reaching this area at the end of a Neutral or Genocide run, Sans initiates a dialogue sequence analyzing your EXP and LV. If you have spared most monsters (Low LV), he will deliver a speech about karma and allow you to proceed toward Asgore's throne room. The narrative continues with the final battle against the King. However, if you have maximized violence (LV 19+), the conversation ends abruptly. Sans engages in a high-difficulty boss battle within this hall. Defeating him here is required to access the surface and conclude the Genocide route.
